Tour overview
The first stop of our day trip from Aswan to Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples will be the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This magnificent temple was constructed by Ptolemy III and dedicated to the falcon-headed god, Horus. It is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt as it still retains most of its original features such as its grand entrance gate, towering columns, and stunning hieroglyphic inscriptions on its walls. After visiting this awe-inspiring structure we will then head towards Kom Ombo where we’ll explore another ancient masterpiece; The Temple Of Sobek And Haroeis which dates back to the Ptolemaic era (323 BC - 30 BC). This dual temple is dedicated to two gods: Sobek – a crocodile deity associated with fertility and protection – and Haroeis – a falcon-headed sky god associated with healing powers who holds an ankh symbolizing life itself.
On our day trip from Aswan, you’ll also have some free time for lunch at your own expense before returning back home refreshed after having experienced two remarkable monuments that stand testament to Egypt's glorious past. At last, but not least, all guests can purchase souvenirs or gifts related to their tour experience from local markets near both sites if they wish so during this amazing journey through Upper Egypt's divine landscapes along with us here at our company.
