2 Day Luxor, Dendera and Abydos

We offer a private tour from Luxor Airport or Luxor Railway Station to explore the western part of the city, including visits to some of Egypt’s most famous sites. Our experienced guide will accompany you as you visit three tombs in the Valley of Kings, including that of King Tutankhamun. You will also visit Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple and Karnak Temple before heading on to experience Luxor Temple which was built by Amenhotep III and completed by Ramses II. To ensure your comfort throughout this journey we provide a private air-conditioned vehicle as well as lunch at one of our local restaurants during your trip.

At the end of the day, you will transfer back to your resort for check-in and overnight.

Start your day in Abydos with a delicious breakfast box from your hotel. Explore one of the most ancient cities of Egypt and its valuable archaeological sites, including the Temple of Seti I. Be amazed by its well-preserved, still partly colored reliefs and discover the famous Abydos King List that starts with Menes, the first pharaoh of united Egypt; it ends with Ramses I who was also Seti’s father. This list is considered to be a complete enumeration of Ancient Egyptian rulers which makes it an invaluable clue for all Egyptologists.

After that, we’ll go to the Osireion, a section of the Temple of Pharaoh Seti I that was constructed in honor of the deity Osiris and, according to legend, once held his head. A temple constructed by Ramses II not far from Seti I’s Temple is significant because it depicts the battles of this pharaoh—possibly the greatest and most powerful person in all of Egyptian Empire history—in intricate reliefs.

After lunch we will head to the second of the tour’s destinations: Dendera. It’s an impressive Ptolemaic temple, dedicated to the goddess Hathor, and one of the best-preserved sanctuaries all over Egypt.

Transfer back to your hotel in Luxor or to Luxor airport or Luxor railway station.
